Selden family papers, 1823-1947.

The greater part of the collection is concerned with activities of Baptist churches in Livingston County, New York, and includes pamphlets of the annual meetings of the Livingston Baptist Association (1844-1918); manuscript volumes relating to the First Baptist Church of East Avon, New York; also, notes of church meetings (1823-1894) including lists of members, articles of faith, covenant, financial pledges (1849-1851), church records (1848-1884). Also, historical pamphlets on Avon and Rush, N.Y.; on the Genesee Valley Canal; and on Captain Daniel Shay written by Mary M. Selden and Henry R. Selden. Also, a pamphlet by Henry Selden pertaining to G. B. Selden's invention of the first practical internal combustion engine, and other material relating to the Selden patent.
